Testimonials - 2011 Soil Course

What last years students are saying about the Soil Course with Doug Weatherbee:

"learned more about soils in the 4 days of this class than in the 4 years of my soils degree"

This technology has the potential to change agriculture as we know it. We'll turn deserts into rain forests! I learned more about soils in the 4 days of this class than in the 4 years of my soils degree.

"The information was amazing.”

The information was amazing. I realize how much I didn't know, what I was doing wrong and how I can create a more ecologically healthy garden/yard.

What a valuable course! What a passionate instructor!

This course was so valuable for igniting my passion and turning me in a great direction for pasture management, feed production, and food growing. I look forward to using this knowledge to help animal owners in my practice create healthy, microbial rich pastures and crops to care for their animals holistically. What a valuable course! What a passionate instructor! What great "dirty jokes"!

I was on the edge of my seat, never bored...learning about dirt!

After taking a PDC recently I had made a note to myself that I needed to learn a lot more about what goes on in the world beneath my feet...so this course was perfectly timed. It makes me realize how deep one could dive into any one area covered in the PDC. There's just so much to learn! I was on the edge of my seat, never bored...learning about dirt! It's a whole new world to be explored right beneath our toes...and it's fundamental knowledge need to really do good earth repair work. It was a tremendous opportunity to learn from an expert in this field. Doug is an incredibly engaging and passionate teacher and his geekiness is infectious. I never thought I'd want to join a microscope club, but I definitely do now.

Price= good bang for the buck

Course content has changed in the last 5 years in an A+ way. We will be brewing tea and making extract with our class Aerobic Compost. All aspects of the course were very well presented and managed (thanks). Price= good bang for the buck. I would recommend this type of course to a little bit more advanced crowd, not so much the newbie.

"catapulted me so much farther in my understanding of soils and soil biology"

The course was fabulous and has catapulted me so much farther in my understanding of soils and soil biology. Any grower should learn how to compost properly and contribute to the regeneration of our land.

"The importance--this will fix the Earth"

The importance: this will fix the Earth. Plan: share with others the knowledge and put into practice. Thoughts: enlightening, organized, comfortable. Value: very good value. Recommend: Oh Yes! This should be taught at an earlier age in our lives and should be a pat of common knowledge.

"Doug's practical and engaging teaching methods are ideal for learning about soil"

This is essential knowledge for permaculturists and all gardening/farming enthusiasts. Alberta's first 2-acre food forest will benefit from the practices applied from this course. Doug's practical and engaging teaching methods are ideal for learning about soil==the doctor is in!

Rene Michalak, Red Deer, AB

"a critical aspect for anyone working towards or concerned about soil regeneration"

I consider this workshop to be a critical aspect for anyone working towards or concerned about soil regeneration. All of the material was fascinating and well presented making it extremely easy to absorb the concepts and applications--endless. I have renewed excitement for what we all can do together to bring back our soil diversity and improve our food and heal our communities.
